2023 – Volunteers and trainees

2023 – Structuring to support growth

In 2023, ABRAM is fully measuring the effects of the Brazilian anchoring it achieved the previous year. The Recanto dos Pássaros now functions as a lively place: welcoming volunteers, collective workcamps, agro-ecological practices, informal transmission. However, this vitality reveals a new requirement: to last, the momentum must be supported by a more solid structure.

In Luxembourg, the team is engaged in in-depth work on governance, clarification of roles, logical frameworks and steering tools. The experience acquired with JadEr feeds this reflection: pedagogical methods, educational coherence, articulation between theory and practice.

In Brazil, ABRAM’s permanent presence in the field confirms the relevance of the model, but also highlights the human and organizational burden it entails.

2023 is a year of lucidity and adjustment: ABRAM is not slowing down, but learning to organize what it has given birth to, so that the collective commitment remains sustainable, transferable and true to its values.

Many visitors, volunteers and trainees stay for varying periods at the Recanto dos Pássaros. Drainage and irrigation work, as well as the development of reception and training facilities, take place throughout the year. The volunteer model is being developed and fine-tuned.
